Short, sweet, and full of symbolism…

I sit, on the shore of our hunger
Dreaming, lost in imagination
thoughts of you
we were once separated by this river
just a bridge away
I sit, seduced
burned by my own desires
watching the ice chunks
slowly float by, knowing,
even if I were to jump
into the ice cold water
It still….would never cool
my burning skin…
